What to Expect When You Order a Custom Pet Portrait

Commissioning a custom pet portrait should be a heartwarming, exciting experience and I am here to make it exactly that.

I know it can feel a little daunting if it is your first time ordering a pet portrait, but from choosing the perfect photo to seeing your pet’s personality come to life, I will guide you every step of the way.

Every portrait I create celebrates the unique bond you share with your pet, and I want the process to be as meanigful as the final piece you will treasure forever.

Choosing Your Portrait Style

When you place an order, you can choose the style and size that best suits your pet and your home. Whether you would like a smaller digital portrait or a larger printed piece to display proudly on your wall, each option is designed to capture your pet’s personality and charm. If you are unsure which style is right, I am always happy to help you choose and you can contact me for guidance on my contact page.

Sending Your Best Photo

Once you've placed your order, the next step is sharing your favourite photo of your pet. I'll be in touch to ask for a few images within 2 working days, but usually the same day.

Clear, high-quality photos in good lighting help me capture the details and expressions that make your pet unique. If your pet is a little camera shy or you only have a few snapshots, don’t worry - I will guide you through selecting the best image to work from.

The Creative Process

Once I have your photo, the creative process begins. I hand draw all my artwork on my iPad, starting with a detailed sketch and gradually build up colours, texture, and personality in the portrait.

Every brushstroke is a chance to capture the little quirks and features that make your pet special. I put as much love and attention into every portrait as I would for my own pets, ensuring the final artwork truly reflects your companion.

Approval and Delivery

You will have the opportunity to see your portrait during the process and provide feedback. Once your portrait is perfect, I will send it to my professional printers who work to the highest standars - using fine art paper and archival inks so that your portrait not only looks beautiful, it lasts.

One I recieve it from my printers, I take care to ensure that every portrait arrives looking exactly as it should, so it can be enjoyed for years to come. I pack it up with love and care, and send your new portrait on to you.

Aftercare and Display Ideas

Once your portrait is in your hands, I recommend framing it as soon as you can to preserve it, or keep it safe in it's biodegradable celo bag until you are ready for framing. You can also order more prints should you wish to, for £35 (A4) or £40 (A3).

Ordering a custom pet portrait is simple, personal, and full of little moments of delight, from picking your favourite photo to seeing your pet’s spirit captured in every brushstroke.

I cannot wait to help you create a keepsake you will treasure for years to come, whether it is for yourself or as a thoughtful gift. If you are ready to start, you can place your order here, and we will begin this fun, creative journey together.
